Greetings from Liberia in Jesus’ name!
Back in December 2016 we shared a bold prayer with you. In pursuit of CLTI’s commitment to the area of education development in Liberia, CLTI planned to look for the right location to build a premier college preparatory Christian high school in the city of Ganta, Liberia, a city of about 75,000 inhabitants.
The Liberian education system is emerging from a prolonged and brutally destructive 14-year period of civil war. Today, Liberia is significantly behind most other African countries in nearly all education statistics. The civil war’s effect on the country was further impacted by the 2014 school closures due to the outbreak of the Ebola virus.
We believe that when a disadvantaged struggling young Liberian receives a quality education it opens a world of opportunity for their life. We believe that Liberian children should have at least an opportunity to get a quality education with a goal to move out of their poverty. But there are very few schools preparing students for the future.
I am excited to share that God honored our prayer! We have found five acres of
land that is strategically located just 3 blocks from a new, major paved highway that the government is going to begin to construct very soon. The land is extraordinarily beautiful and ready for immediate purchase. Indeed, we really need to act now!
CLTI launched “Reaching for Academic Excellence” in February to begin to demonstrate a focus on preparing students for the future. Over 500 students are committed to meeting 4 times a week to work with educators in various fields to prepare them to complete and pass the National College Entrance Exam. The high school we are planning to build is the larger extension of this program. It will allow us to focus on these students not only for a 3-month time frame, but for 4 years. The school will be biblically based with a view toward discipling students to mature in Christ. Our graduates will be prepared for higher education, which will enable them to be used by God in various ministries and careers. Even just one year of school beyond high school dramatically impacts the student’s future earnings and will bring an immediate impact to their family, community and ultimately their country.
Friend, I am writing you to please consider making a generous donation to CLTI towards the purchase of this amazing 5-acre tract of land. Without receiving a higher education, these young people either go back to subsistence farming where they barely make a living, or will remain unemployed.
Our vision is both compassionate and practical, bringing true social transformation through quality education with a focus on developing the character of these young people through Christian discipleship (Mark 6:34-40; Matt. 28:18-20).
The total price of the property, its survey, and registration with the city and government will be $25,000. We are seeking 50 friends to be Legacy Partners to contribute $500 or more each to purchase this land. Through Christ, we can create a legacy for future generations of young people in Liberia. I am asking you to become a Legacy Impact Partner.
Today, would you consider making a contribution of $500 or more toward the purchase of this land? If only 50 people gave $500 each we would have the $25,000!
Please mail your contribution to: CLTI, P. O. Box 1123, Carmel, IN 46082. Or, you can click on the “Donate” button on this website.
Thank you for praying, and for financially supporting our ministry. God bless you!
Sei and Yah Buor,
