How we long to see you—our friend and partner!

But, brothers and sisters, when we were orphaned by being separated from you for a short time (in person, not in thought), out of our intense longing we made every effort to see you . . . . For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you? Indeed, you are our glory and joy.

I Thessalonians 2: 18, 20

Dear Friend,

Greetings from Yah and Sei in Liberia!

It has been a long, but amazing ten months in Liberia.

We have experienced your blessings and have felt your love, even from this distance. Our team has been working extremely hard, and we have seen many accomplishments during the past year. We thank God for your generous support and faithful partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.

Our faithful God, too, has blessed us, and we long to see you to share the good news of these blessings, which are already producing abundant fruit in the nation of Liberia.

In a few days, Yah and I will be flying back to the States for three months. During these three months, we would like to:

  1. Share about our discipleship ministry for high school students in Ganta, and how God is changing their lives.
  2. Share with you and your church family some of the 26 stories of how the microfinance program has impacted 26 families.
  3. Share about “Reaching for Academic Excellence,” an after school study program involving ten high schools and more than 528 students. This past Thursday the students’ national examination results came out. Ganta schools came in first, with the highest scores in all of Nimba County. We saw a huge increase in the percentage of students who passed the exams this year as opposed to last year. One large high school saw an improvement from 40% passing to 90% passing. Another school (a much smaller school) had 16 out of 17 students pass the exam. This is the first time in seven years that we have seen such achievement. Amazing!

  4. Share the good news that CLTI was able to make a fifty percent payment on five acres of land in the city of Ganta to develop a college preparatory high school.

Yah and I long to see you to pray with you and to strengthen our partnership, and we are eager to spend some time with you and those in your community. Whether it is to give a greeting in your church service, speaking during a Sunday School class or fellowship hour, or something more informal, we are happy to accommodate all invitations. Please e-mail us at so we can make arrangements to connect with you, your church and any others who might be great partners in ministry as we continue this calling to rebuild Liberia.

Thanks and God bless,

Sei and Yah Buor
