DEC CLTI YEAR-END LETTER
Celebrating God’s Faithfulness: RICA’s Milestones and Urgent Year-End Appeal
Dear Friends and Supporters,
As we reflect on the incredible work God has done this year, we are in awe of His faithfulness and the many lives being impacted through your prayers, support, and generous giving. In January 2024, we asked you to join us in praying for Riverview International Christian Academy (RICA) and its mission in Liberia. Today, we joyfully celebrate the amazing progress we’ve made together, all to the glory of God!
Here are some key highlights from 2024:
- Successful Launch and Growth: RICA was dedicated and launched into God’s mission on November 12, 2021. By 2024, we’ve grown to serve over 500 students in grades 1-12 and now employ 70 staff members—36 instructional and support staff.
- Graduation Success: On November 25, 2024, we celebrated our second graduation ceremony, with 37 students graduating and continuing their education in universities across Liberia.
- Transportation Expansion: Thanks to a generous gift, we were able to purchase a 45-seat bus in April, providing much-needed transportation for our students.
- Pioneering Education: RICA is proud to be Liberia’s first college-preparatory high school in Gompa, where students are encountering Jesus through classes, friendships, discipleship, and extracurricular activities.
- Building Progress: We are nearing completion of key facilities, including the cafeteria, chapel, and graduation hall—a multi-purpose space for worship and community gatherings. The remaining work includes floor tiles, electrical wiring, and painting.
Urgent Appeal: We Need Your Help to Complete the Campus!
As we look forward to the future, there are still important tasks that must be completed. Our goal is to raise $45,000 by December 31st to finish the cafeteria, chapel, and graduation hall. These spaces will serve over 1,500 students, staff, and visitors each week for worship, meals, and community events. Your generous donation will ensure that these vital facilities are ready for use in early 2025.
The facilities are crucial for our community to gather and grow together in the knowledge of the Lord. In Habakkuk 2:14, we are reminded that “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” This is the vision we carry for our students: that they would not only excel academically but be equipped to share the gospel and become Liberia’s future leaders in government, business, education, and beyond.
Why Your Support Matters:
RICA is not just a school; it is a lifeline for families who previously had little hope for their children’s future. In the past six years, we have seen transformation in the lives of hundreds of children. They are encountering Jesus, receiving a quality education, and being prepared to impact Liberia for Christ.
But we need your help to finish the work and continue the mission. Every day, we are training students to represent Jesus in a broken world and to bring hope and healing wherever they go.
Will you partner with us today? Your year-end gift will ensure that we complete these vital facilities and continue our mission of transforming lives for Christ.
Thank you for your ongoing support and prayers. We are incredibly grateful for each one of you and are excited about the future God has for RICA and the children of Liberia.
A Personal Celebration: Tonzia’s U.S. Citizenship On a personal note, we are overjoyed to share the exciting news that our daughter, Tonzia, has officially obtained her U.S. citizenship on December 11, 2024. This marks the culmination of a 30-year journey, and we are deeply grateful for God’s faithfulness and for the prayers that have sustained us through this
Tonzia has served as a dedicated board member of RICA and as the communications coordinator for CLTI, and we are incredibly proud of the contributions she has made to the ministry. This achievement is a testament to her perseverance and to the unwavering support of our community.
Thank you for celebrating with us during this momentous occasion!
